What are the Types of Allergies Suffered by Dogs?

There are different types of allergies from which dogs may suffer. The following is the list and the symptoms thereof:
- Inhalant dermatitis: When the allergens are inhaled this may create skin problems and/or respiratory problems for dogs. This allergy may even show inflammation on some parts of the body.
- Hives: Normally, this allergy is caused by an insect bite. Sometimes it may even be due to some food or medicine allergy.
- Hay fever: Some allergens, when inhaled may lead to hay fever, sneezing, respiratory problems and itchy skin.
- Gastrointestinal problems: Some kind of food allergy may lead to diarrhea, loss of appetite and vomits.
- Pneumonitis: Due to bacterial or fungal infection, there might be inflammation in lungs or nasal passages. This may cause allergic reactions like sneezing and breathing problems.
- Bronchitis: This is also an allergy or health disorder common in dogs which causes breathing problems and prolonged coughing.
- Pemphigus foliaceus: This is a kind of bacterial infection which affects nose, ears and skin around the eyes.
It is important to find out to what things your pet is allergic. This will help you to prevent it from further dangers of allergic reactions. Also, treatment is recommended and thus you must take your dog to the vet.
