What are the Symptoms of Lyme Disease in Dogs?

Most of the dogs show no symptoms when it comes to Lyme disease. However, some of the symptoms that are seen in some dogs which can be considered are swelling of legs that may cause further limping or pains in the joints after the infection.

Sometimes they may also get affected by low run fever. Remember that the symptoms that occur in humans are not same in the dogs. Dogs can get simple arthritis in the joints which may also vary from one leg to another. The pain caused due to this is quite intense and unbearable at times. The nature of these sick dogs becomes depressed and disinterested in other activities. Sometimes after suffering from the infection for a long time, the dogs may even suffer from chronic inflammation of kidney, heart and nervous system. Their walking style changes due to the swelling and pain in the joints.

So these are some of the symptoms which are seen in dogs often that will help you in determining Lyme disease. Apart from this, the symptoms also depend a lot on the age of the dog. It is often seen that the younger dogs are affected more severely as compared to older dogs.
