Symptoms of Cat Strokes
|
Strokes among cats are rare occurrence and are not fatal as in humans. The most common symptoms of feline strokes are mentioned below. Firstly if a cat is suffering from a stroke it will walk sluggishly like a drunkard and will frequently lose its balance and fall off and if it tries to jump it might miscalculate the distance and fall down. Secondly feline stroke can paralyze a part of the cat’s facial muscles which can affect its capability to eat food.
This might result in the fall out of the food from the cat’s mouth as the cat fails to chew its food properly. Sometimes it also paralyzes the feline throat muscles which cause difficulty in swallowing food and may result in choking. Thirdly sometimes stroke affects the cat’s nerves or abdominal muscles, which helps the cat to urinate or pass stool thus resulting in frequent urination.
Fourthly depending on the damage caused to the cat’s brain cells due to the affect of the stroke the cat may encounter abnormality in its sleeping habits and a change in its personal traits. It may suddenly feel puzzled or scared of people with whom it was closely acquainted with. If any of these symptoms are observed in a cat then immediately it should taken to a veterinarian. |
