Allergy is quite common among dogs just like human beings. Most common dog allergies can be skin allergies. The symptoms might include excessive scratching, rashes, itching and burning sensation. On having a look you will be able to see redness and swelling on the affected skin. In such cases, before giving any medications you can depend on home based remedies. You must first bathe your dog by adding a few drops of dog shampoo in warm water. You must use a bath tub specially made for dog.

This can drown the fleas which might be the major cause of allergy. You must bathe your dog every 4 days till all the fleas are gone. In order to soothe the skin of the dog, oatmeal water can be used. Oatmeal water can be made by boiling 3 glass of water and adding a handful of oatmeal to that. If the skin allergy is acute then it would be better to consult the veterinarian or at least try some over the counter medications. You must add flaxseed oil to the diet of your dog. This can make skin’s immunity   better. Sometimes dog food which you have been giving might be the cause of allergy. In that case, you must change the dog food.

It is worth noting that some dogs may be allergic to additives in foods. Apart from this, you must keep cleanliness and hygienic conditions so that your dog doesn’t get allergy triggers due to different allergens.
