Rabies Vaccine for Dogs

Like humans, evens a dog’s body is susceptible to many diseases. It is for this reason that your pet must be administered with different types of vaccines to protect him from falling ill. The vaccination for rabies can be given at any time of the year. More often than not, it is administered with booster shots once every year. The working of this vaccine is such that it will not cure the virus causing rabies. Instead, it improves the immune system which in turn protects the dog from getting or curing this disease.

Dogs can be vaccinated to prevent occurrence of rabies. But, it is not that once you administer that vaccine, your job is done. Some dog’s body might not be suitable to this vaccination or it may show a few complications later on. It is for this reason that after administering this vaccine, you should take care of your dog. Some of the symptoms which would suggest that your pet is in trouble after taking rabies vaccine are:

  • Swollen eyes
  • Eyes watering
  • Swollen face

If you happen to see any of these symptoms, you should rush your dog to the vet before it is too late.
