Treatment that must be given to dog for treating diarrhea varies depending on what the vet infers by looking at the condition of your dog. If the dog is suffering from intestinal upset then vet will advice bland diet which will settle the problem in the stomach.
The doctor will ask for fecal testing to find out whether parasites are the cause of diarrhea. De-wormers can be given to the dog for treating the parasites and these drugs will help the digestive system to return back to its normal functioning. If the dog is suffering from severe diarrhea then doctor will use intravenous fluid therapy for balancing the level of electrolyte in the body of the dog to make up for the loss of fluid caused by diarrhea.
