Asthma in dogs are rare than it is in cats. Your dog may feel difficult to breath due to allergic reaction by asthma. This reaction causes mucus to fill up its breathing nasals. This reaction can be fatal however it can be controlled. Coughing or wheezing are primary symptoms of your dog having asthma. Asthma may lead your dog to act lethargic and may even lead to weight loss. Smoking should be avoided in front of the dog. Dog should be kept away from freshly cut grass and moldy places like basements. If the dog stays inside the house than it must regularly be vacuumed and dust. They must use air purifiers.

There are few herbs that can natural remedy to asthma in dogs.

Mullein is an herb that suppresses deep and dry coughs; it is also a tonic to lungs.

Licorice root is useful for suppressing cough in upper respiratory areas.

Marshmallow root is useful in soothing mucous membranes, it also ease dry cough.

Coltsfoot is most useful for wet cough by eliminating mucus from the bronchi, inhibits bacterial growth and stimulates respiratory functions.

Some herbs that can improve immune system are Echinacea, Oregon grape, astragalus. Astragalus also stimulates the regeneration of the bronchial cells.
