How to Diagnose Rabies in Dogs?
|
If the dog is infected by rabies it is not possible to cure it. There is only one way by which you can examine that dog was suffering from rabies and it is through its brain examination. This test can be performed only after the death of dog. For diagnosing rabies, find out whether the dog is in company with wild stray dogs.
The time required by virus to spread from one dog to another is around 3 to 8 weeks and then it will spread to the brain. Later the virus will reach salivary gland from where it will pass on to others through bites. Look whether the dog is showing any kind of fever, nervousness and anxiety. If dog shows any change in temperament showing anger and getting vicious, then it is the initial stage of rabies.
In this stage the dog will become light sensitive and noise sensitive. The dog will face difficulty in swallowing due to which it will keep on salivating constantly. You will feel as if something is choked in its throat and later it will lead to the dog’s death due to respiratory failure. If you see any of the above mentioned symptoms after your dog got in contact with other animals, then immediately rush to the veterinarians. |
