Depression is not just a common problem among human beings but it can also be observed in pets like dogs. In general dogs are social animals and they get depressed due to several reasons. One of the commonest reasons why they get depressed is that are forced to stay at the house alone for hours.

There are many household wherein the parents go out on work for at least 8 hours a day and the kids go to school at the same time. During a prolonged period the pet stays alone and start missing their owners badly. This can be a cause of their unhappiness leading towards depression. Sometimes changes occurring in the household can cause dog depression. It can be a family member leaving the house or something else.

 It is the duty of the owner to get the dog accustomed with all the changes of transitions that are about to occur. There are cases when other pets in the family die and the effect is seen in the dog’s depressive moods. Sometimes medicines provided to the dogs for some reason can lead to depression; this is why a skilled veterinarian should be consulted before giving any medicine to the fog.
