There can be several reasons why a dog gets stroke. But the fact remains that strokes are not much common in fogs as they are in human beings. Sometimes a particular medical condition is the actual reason behind the stroke.

 Accidents and injuries might also cause dog strokes which can also be an effect of food poisoning. When the supply of blood inside the brain arteries get reduced, a stroke occurs this is called Ischemic stroke. There is another type of stroke as well which is known as hemorrhagic stroke. At time the blood vessels inside the brain breaks causing hemorrhages and this results in sudden stroke. Other medical problems can also lead to a dog stroke. It required advanced medical interventions to identify and treat the causes of dog stroke. There are certain rare cases which show that internal parasites are the reason behind the stroke. Sometimes a small microscopic bit of the spinal cartilage can cause stroke. A strong hit at the head caused by some accident may result in dog strokes.
