Plastic bowls are known to be porous because of which they easily trap bacteria, parasites and other similar micro-organisms.
Once the cat feeds on the food lay on the bacteria rich plastic bowl, these harmful micro-organisms get transferred on to the cat’s chin. This leads to the formation of feline acne. Sometimes, the cat can develop an allergic reaction towards the plastic bowl and experience the development of acne all over the chin and lips. Further, the unhygienic environment around the cat can also trigger the formation of this kind of acne.
According to most veterinary doctors, the development of allergies towards certain kinds of food also contributes in a great deal towards the progression of feline acne. The hypersensitivity of the sebaceous gland of the cat can also sometimes manifest in form of blackheads on the hair shafts of lips and chin. This disease can also spread by the establishment of a contact with an infected cat. Stress is another factor touted as one of the major triggers of this condition. |
