Today asthma is a very common disease in both humans and animals. Contrary to the common thought that the disease can only affect people but, it could also affect to your animals. In reality asthma is the symptom that occurs because of acute allergic reaction. Allergies and allergic reactions are mainly caused to the dogs possessing a weak immune system. Because of being allergic to airborne irritants like pollen grains, dust, cigarette smoke, vehicles smoke and dry air can cause asthma attack to a dog. Apart from the air pollutants there are other deeper problems like viral or bacterial infections, worms and even cancer become major causes of dogs’ asthma. Asthma is more frequently found in middle-aged and young dogs. A dog suffering from asthma shows following symptoms:
- Coughing
- Wheezing
- Sneezing
- Appetite loss

It may seem quite unreal that asthma attack may be experienced by a dog with only some normal wheezing or coughing. If the asthma attack is very severe, than apart from coughing and wheezing, labored breathing can also be experienced by a dog.
